What people ask before they hire us.
I sprayed Raid and they scattered. Now what?
Common situation. Pyrethrin sprays are repellent — they make roaches hide and split the colony. Stop spraying. Don't clean the trail. We come out, identify the species, and place non-repellent bait. Two weeks later they're gone. The hardest part of the whole job for most homeowners is "do nothing for 2 days while we set bait."
The big flying ones at 2 AM — how do I stop them?
Those are American roaches (palmetto bugs). They're coming in from outside through a door sweep, AC line penetration, or weep hole. We treat exterior perimeter with granular bait + identify entry points + recommend door-sweep replacement. Indoor spray is wrong — these aren't living in your kitchen, they're visiting.
Are gel baits safe for pets and kids?
Yes. Gel baits are placed in cracks, hinges, and motor housings — locations pets and kids can't reach. The active ingredient (fipronil at 0.05%) is the same ingredient in Frontline flea-and-tick. The amount we use across a whole house is less than what's in one Frontline application.
Will you bug-bomb my house?
No. Foggers are repellent and ineffective for roaches. They push insects into the wall void and you don't see them for 6 weeks before they bounce back. We'd rather lose the job than fog your house.
How fast until I stop seeing them?
German roach: 80% reduction in 7 days, 95%+ in 14 days. American roach: noticeable drop in 3 days because we treat the source outdoors. On quarterly plans, if you're not seeing meaningful reduction at day 14, we come back and re-treat at no charge.
Do you treat condos and apartments?
Yes — many of our German roach calls are condos. We coordinate with property managers when shared walls are involved (German roaches travel between units). We can treat your unit alone but recommend a building-wide protocol if you've already had two re-infestations.
