Quarterly perimeter pests
Country club homes lean heavily on perimeter-only quarterly programs — palmetto bugs, ghost ants, palmetto bugs, silverfish, springtails. Most BallenIsles, PGA National, and Mirasol homes are on a 90-day exterior-only program. Indoor service only when needed.
Communities like Old Marsh and Frenchmans Creek border preserved wetlands — heavy mosquito pressure Apr–Nov. Barrier spray + In2Care station programs. For golf-course-edge homes we recommend permanent misting on screened patios; pressure justifies it.
Most PBG homes are 1990s–2010s slab construction. Subterraneans enter through expansion joints, plumbing penetrations, and AC condensate lines. Termidor SC liquid soil barrier. 8–10 year residual. If termites come back during the warranty period, we come back.
The expectation here is fairway-grade turf. We run quarterly fertilization with soil-tested NPK calibration plus iron foliars during the summer blackout. Three PBG estate clients on a tighter monthly cadence. Common-area golf-course-perimeter contracts at multiple clubs.
Mirasol and Old Palm have heavy mature live oak canopies. Branches less than 6 ft from the roof give roof rats jump-on access. Trap-and-seal, hardware cloth on every soffit penetration, plus a tree-trim recommendation report.
PBG canal-side and lake-front communities deal with iguanas in pool screens, raccoons in trash bins, and opossums under pool decks. Live trap, humane removal, FWC permit-coordinated. Yard exclusion (chicken wire) included.
PGA National hired DeBugem for a single home in 2002. Two of those original homeowners are still customers today. We've grown into six full PBG country club contracts since — and Dale still does the initial walk-through on every new HOA engagement himself. Do you work with my country club's property manager?
Likely yes. We have direct relationships with property managers at BallenIsles, PGA National, Mirasol, Frenchmans Reserve, Old Marsh, and Eastpointe. If your community isn't on that list, we'll reach out to them directly for gate access and contracted-service coordination — no homeowner middle-man needed.
How fast can you get to my PBG home?
50 minutes average door-to-door from our Lake Worth Beach shop in 2024. PBG is the farthest north we routinely service. Our two trucks run northern routes Mon–Fri (Saturday emergency response). Same-day for emergencies; next-day for booked inspections.
I'm closing on a Mirasol home with a developer termite warranty — what should I do?
Have it inspected at year 5 or 6 (whatever the warranty cycle is). Most developer warranties expire at year 10 with no transfer to subsequent owners. We do FL-1A WDO inspections for $125, and we'll review the existing warranty terms for free. About 1 in 4 homes we inspect at year 5–6 has early-stage subterranean activity.
The mosquito pressure is brutal at Old Marsh / Frenchmans. What works?
Wetland-edge homes need three layers: source elimination (bromeliad management), barrier spray Apr–Nov on a 21-day rotation, and either In2Care stations (low-pressure inland yards) or permanent perimeter misting (heavy-pressure water-edge yards). We'll quote both options at the inspection.
Can you do golf-course-perimeter pest control?
Yes — we currently run common-area perimeter programs at three PBG clubs. Different chemistry than residential (mostly granular bait stations and exterior-only spray; no indoor work in club facilities). Quoted per acre and per facility.
An iguana ruined my pool screen. What now?
Live trap, humane removal, then chicken-wire exclusion below the pool screen frame. Average call $145–$280 depending on size and pool screen access. We do this several times a month in PBG canal-side communities.

UF/IFAS drywood termite research identifies pre-1995 stick-frame construction in Florida country club communities as among the most documented drywood termite hotspots. TermTrak scanner radar finds activity through plasterboard, foam, and tile without cutting walls.
Palm Beach County Mosquito Control specifically targets golf course retention ponds, water hazards, and irrigation runoff as designated mosquito breeding zones. Our In2Care station system around country club properties uses EPA-registered auto-dissemination — proven in published field trials.
UF/IFAS roof rat research identifies mature live oak and palm canopy connecting to tile roofs as the highest roof rat pressure habitat. PBG's signature mature-canopy estate sections fit this profile exactly. Snap-trap and structural exclusion is the only research-supported endpoint.
