Greenacres has a specific pest signature — mid-density single-family homes, canal-side mango trees, and St. Augustine lawns that yellow every June. The mango trees mean roof rats. The canals mean iguanas. The St. Augustine means sod webworms. Twelve minutes from our Lake Worth Beach shop, on routes Mon–Fri (Saturday emergency response).
Greenacres is one of our closest service areas — we cover it regularly. Same tech every quarter for residential, same coordinator for HOAs.
Greenacres has a specific pest profile — driven by canal-side mango trees, mid-density single-family lots, and St. Augustine lawns that don't take summer stress well.

The canal-side communities — River Bridge, Bedford Mews, Smith Farm — all have mature mango trees that drop fruit and host roof rat populations. They jump from mango limbs onto barrel-tile roofs. Trap-and-seal: snap traps inside, hardware cloth on every soffit penetration, plus a tree-trim recommendation. 30-day re-entry warranty.
Rodent control →
Tiny, pale, almost translucent ants that trail along countertops, bathroom grout, and pet food bowls. Spray scatters them — the colony buds into multiple smaller colonies. We use Optigard non-repellent gel bait. Workers carry it home. 7–10 day knockdown, doesn't come back.
Ant control →
St. Augustine lawns in Greenacres yellow every June from sod webworm and chinch bug damage. We diagnose first — most "watering issue" calls turn out to be insects. Lawn fertilization is a separate service (different license, different chemistry).
Lawn care →
Greenacres' 1980s–2000s slab construction sees subterranean termite pressure at expansion joints, AC condensate lines, and plumbing penetrations. Termidor SC liquid soil barrier. 8–10 year residual. If termites come back during the warranty period, we come back.
Termite treatment →
The canal-side neighborhoods deal with iguanas in the pool screen, raccoons in the trash, and opossums in the soffit. Live trap, humane removal, FWC permit-coordinated. Pool screen exclusion (chicken wire below frame) included.
Wildlife removal →
The big flying ones come up from mulch beds and storm drains. Treatment is exterior perimeter granular bait + door-sweep exclusion. Standard part of any quarterly program — most Greenacres homes don't see them after the first 90 days.
Roach control →Our shop is twelve minutes from most Greenacres homes. Dale Martin lived in Greenacres for the first decade DeBugem was in business. Both of our techs live close to Greenacres. That proximity matters — we know which neighborhoods have the worst mango-tree roof rat issues, which canals back up after big rain, and which yards have ghost ant pressure that resists shotgun treatments.
Our Greenacres treatment plans are grounded in UF/IFAS Extension publications, EPA-registered product data, and Palm Beach County Mosquito Control surveillance reports. Here's the local picture.
UF/IFAS subterranean termite surveys identify Greenacres' 1970s–80s ranch and split-level housing stock — predominant on Forest Hill, 10th Ave, and the Jog Rd corridor — as standard South Florida termite-pressure profile. Soil-applied Termidor SC creates a published-validated barrier.
UF/IFAS termite publications ↗UF/IFAS urban entomology research documents German roaches as the highest-pressure pest in shared-wall multifamily housing. Greenacres has one of the highest apartment-housing densities in PBC. Non-repellent gel bait is the EPA-registered standard — never repellent sprays.
EPA pesticide registry ↗Palm Beach County Mosquito Control identifies the C-51 canal — running through Greenacres — as a year-round Aedes and Culex breeding zone. Granular larvicide on standing water is the published EPA-registered control approach.
